Free Vintage-Style Ephemera for Junk Journals and Dollhouses

Edited 4/03/23: Hey, everyone! When I merged and migrated sites, my printables got lost! So I’m remaking them and editing these posts, starting with this free junk journal ephemera and miniatures/ dollhouse wallpaper! I made the first one in Photoshop, but did this one in Procreate. I’m also offering PNG files!

My older sister loves dollhouses, and I love miniatures. Our love for tiny scenes developed separately, but I have a suspicion it has something to do with our grandma.

Later on, this love grew into an appreciation for ephemera in both junk journals and scrapbooks. Now I make and sell ephemera (as well as other journals, albums, and notebooks!) I made this printable before I ever even knew what ephemera was, but lost it when I migrated sites. I want to be able to offer free printable exclusives to my blog readers, so I knew I had to remake it! This time, I used Procreate on my iPad Pro, and was able to recreate it with watercolor and other brushes. The watercolor brushes come from a Liz Kohler Brown class.

I was really inspired by the cutesy, quaint design of lines like Calico Critters. I could see this in a house belonging to a family of talking woodland creatures in the woods–can you?

If you want to download it, just keep scrolling for the PNG file and long press or right click for the full version and save it to your device. It’s a full 8.5”x11” image, so you can cut it down to size or downsize it in your printer settings.

It’s a great piece for a junk journal, especially a 6”x9” junk journal. You can also use it as a journaling card, card background, or in any scrapbook/photo album.

I think it’d be perfect for any old dollhouses you’d like to update or any undecorated dollhouses! Please just don’t repost without proper credit or sell it–personal use only, please!

I’d love to see any projects you made with this printable! Please tag me on Instagram. If you can’t click through the link right now, my handle is @thestoriedlives.

Did you have any dollhouses growing up? If so, did you ever re-decorate them? Tell me about it in the comments! I’d love to hear about it!

Love always,

Kara
