Lately, I’ve been shirking away from technology. In high school, I absolutely loved hearing about the latest innovations. I still do now, but I go analog more. I make things. I do things by hand that I can just as easily do on a computer. Technology is great and can be life saving, but the everyday things we use have made doing things so impersonal.

This is why I’ve started writing letters by hand. It’s nice to write a letter. It’s nice to receive a letter. It makes everyone involved happy.

Why did we stop writing letters and sending cards? That’s easy enough to answer: email made things simple and more cost effective. People just don’t have time to pick out stationary. Going to the post office for stamps takes time that we don’t have.

When you write a letter, or even a note on a greeting card, you’re showing someone you care. You’re showing them you spent time out of your day to make something just for them. It doesn’t have to be fancy. You don’t have to have the world’s greatest stationary. You don’t need to have calligraphy skills or anything. You just show someone that you care.

Plus, who doesn’t miss having a pen pal? It’s fun to have someone to write to, especially if they live somewhere different from you! There’s programs you can join to find a pen pal if you’re interested in finding a new person to write!

So that’s my challege for you today, readers! Pick up some paper and an envelope and get writing! You can send letters off to a friend or family member or leave encouraging notes around More Love Letters style!
